INTERVIEW TIPS

Interviews can be intimidating experiences turning even the best of us into little more than nervous wrecks!

However, follow these tips and you can not fail!

PREPARATION IS KEY

Ensure you know the position you are being interviewed for and that you have a full job description that you have studied.  Most Job Descriptions detail what the Recruiter is looking for!!

Research the organisation thoroughly, most organisations have Web Sites and you may also be able to get promotional company literature, brochures etc.  Recruiters are always impressed by candidates who have done their research.

If your Recruitment Consultant knows the Interviewer - ask about them and their personality and ask about what you should expect from the interview.

TO PLAN IS TO SUCCEED

Read the job description, look at the duties that you may have completed before and the skills you may have used in previous roles.  Being able to provide interviewers with a strong example of how you have performed in a previous role in similar duties strengthens your interview.

Make a list of all the skills and abilities you feel you have that are right for the position concerned.

Body Language

This is such an important factor, yet goes unnoticed by many.

> Always ensure that you stand tall when meeting your interviewer and greet them with a firm handshake.

>  Remember to smile - this portrays a friendly and enthusiastic person

>  Keep Regular eye contact

>  Sit up - no slouching

>  Ensure you do not fidget or fold your arms

DRESS TO IMPRESS

Always ensure that you are dressed in a corporate, business suit.  The key here is to be as neutral as possible - we want YOU to outshine the competition - not your fashion sense!! Also ensure that you are comfortable.
